MOSCOW, (SANA)- Russian Chief of General Staff Valery Gerasimov reiterated his country’s stance which calls for resolving the problems in Syria by the Syrians themselves , warning that any foreign military intervention will have catastrophic repercussions on the whole region.
At a press conference held on Wednesday following a meeting of NATO/ Russia Council in Brussels, Gerasimov expressed Russia’s concern over plans of deploying patriot missiles in Turkey, warning that any mobilization of weapons, particularly in regions which face crises will lead to additional dangers.
He added that the Russian general staff follows the special situation of patriot missiles, though “our partners announce that those air defense means will not be used to impose any no-fly zone over Syria.”
