“Syria My Home” Exhibition Celebrates Syria’s Steadfastness, Culture
LATTAKIA, (SANA) – Activities of the “Syria my Home” exhibition continue at the Culture Center in Lattakia with a wide-range collection of paintings, sculptures, photographs and calligraphies.
The festivity celebrates Syria’s geographic, humanitarian, cultural and heritage values.
Artist Eyad Nasser said that the exhibition is an opportunity for all artists to express their love to their country, adding that he is participating with three paintings tackling the topics of hope, optimism and martyrs.
Photographer Johni Shakkour stressed the importance of the image in media, stressing the need for keeping the images neutral and not twisting them in the manner of some misleading media channels.
He added that some misleading media outlets are focusing on some visual elements for creating misleading visual illusion.
For his part, calligrapher Arabi Abu Bakr said that he is participating with one work, adding that his participation is a form of expressing loyality to homeland.
He stressed that the Culture and Education Ministries should accord more attention to the art of calligraphy.
Sculpture Saleem Issa said that he is participating with five sculptures made of wood, adding that his works tackle issues related to the homeland and the current events in Syria.
