The systems of the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) have been disrupted by a cyberattack of unknown origin.

Over the past days, Anonymous hackers have announced launching attacks against the news organization’s website. However, it’s uncertain if the current outage is caused by them.

A few hours ago, the Syrian Computer Society revealed that “cyber terrorist attacks” caused some Syrian servers to go down.

At the time of writing, the domains of SANA are inaccessible.

SANA is a state-owned company operated by the country’s Ministry of Information. Ever since the alleged chemical weapons attack, the organization’s systems have often been targeted by hackers.

This latest attack comes shortly after SANA published a full transcript of an interview that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad had with Russian state TV Rossiya-24.

In the interview, Assad revealed that Syria decided to place its chemical weapons under international control because of Russia’s proposal, and not because of the US threats.
