Athens, (SANA) – The Greek Coast Guard announced that it seized on Thursday a ship flying the flag of Sierra Leone near Imea islets east of the Aegean Sea which was carrying around 20,000 AK-47 assault rifles, most likely bound for Syria and Libya.
Informed sources said the ship “Nour M” sailed from Ukraine to Iskenderun in Turkey, noting that the ship also carried a large amount of explosives.
The ship was taken to Symi island under the watch of the Coast Guard then it was transported to Rhodes island. Investigations showed that the ship was used before for illicit drug trafficking.
