Beirut, (SANA) – Patriarch John X Yazigi of Antioch and All the East for Greek Orthodox Church reiterated his plea for replacing “the logic of conflict” in Syria with dialogue.
During a press conference in Beirut on Thursday, Patriarch Yazigi urged the international community to step in and exert efforts to release the nuns kidnapped from St. Thecla convent.
”We received with overwhelming pain the news about the abduction of the nuns…Since our early attempts to set them free have yielded no results, the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Antioch and All the East appeals to the international community to intervene and exert efforts to return them safe and sound,” the Patriarch said.
”Let it be known to everyone: each single drop of an innocent victim’s blood out-values all the mottos of the world, ” he said.
An armed terrorist group attacked last Monday St. Thecla convent in Maaloula city and held Mother Superior Pelagia Sayyaf and a number of nuns hostage, in addition to committing acts of murder and sabotage in the town.
